Kat Von D Launches SICKENING Divine-Inspired Collection

Calling all Pink Flamingos! Kat Von D celebrates self-expression in new Divine-inspired collection.

March 7th will mark thirty years since the untimely death of Divine, the world-famous drag queen and performer. Starring in the likes of Pink Flamingos and Hairspray with John Waters, Divine became a superstar for her unique and outlandish aesthetic. In fact, even her own manager described her personality and performance style as “Trash. Filth. Obscenity. In bucket-loads”.

Divine, the stage name for Glenn Milstead, continues to be an inspiration for performers and her unique style has also paved the way for many a queen to take on their own Divine-inspired looks.

In fact, Divine’s very own style has helped create a limited-edition make-up range for Kat Von D Beauty. The collection is “a symbol of self-expression, artistry and positivity, celebrating Divine, the beauty of a true original”.

Kat Von D herself is also a huge Divine fan. Speaking about the legend, she said:

He was so iconic and so ground-breaking, especially for the time that he was around because he was not only breaking barriers in the regular world just being openly gay, but in the drag world as well. He made people question the conventional idea of beauty and he made something that could be scary to most people very appealing. That’s so powerful.

The limited-edition collection is available in two different products, the I Am Divine Eyeshadow Palette and the I Am Divine Studded Kiss Lipstick.

The 8-pan eyeshadow palette features high pigment matte, shimmer and metallic shades inspired by Divine’s famous look, whilst Kat has also created a never-before-seen nude shade of Studded Kiss Crème Lipstick, called Divine, in collectable neon green studded packaging.

To celebrate the launch of the collection, Kat transformed herself into her very own rendition of Divine. She is joined in the campaign by makeup artist Timothy Hung, character stylist and YouTuber Bejean (aka MalibuDollface), and 14-year-old skater, surfer and drummer Max Morse.

The range is available for a limited time on,, and in Sephora stores.
