Zara Larsson makes a bold return with ‘Ruin My Life’

Zara Larsson pretty much dominated the charts in 2016, with the international smash hit ‘Lush Life’ and her debut international album ‘So Good’. Having teased us last year with the Clean Bandit collaboration ‘Symphony’, which became her first UK number one, we’ve been eagerly awaiting new material from the Swedish star.

Today, Larsson unveiled the stunning new single ‘Ruin My Life’. Sun-soaked and bittersweet vocals are laid over a trippy beat – simple yet clever in its premise. It’s a  frank admission of heartache, but also the idea of owning its more masochistic qualities. Larsson says of the track: “Ruin My Life is a song about that unhealthy relationship that everyone has at one point in their life. It’s toxic, but it’s passionate.”

The track is co-written by Larsson herself, alongside Delacey, Michael Pollack, Jackson Foote and Jamie Sanderson (aka Sermstyle). The track is produced by Jackson Foote alongside The Monsters and the Strangerz

You set fire to my world, couldn’t handle the heat, now I’m sleeping alone and I’m starting to freeze. Baby, come bring me help, let it rain over me, baby, come back to me…

At just twenty-years-old, Larsson is an impressive talent who seems to know what it takes to create a catchy yet layered pop track so we’re certainly excited to hear what else is to come from the pop starlet.
