The Magnettes live their best lives in ‘Kim N Kanye’

Sweden’s The Magnettes latest single Kim N Kanye is a bop of the highest order.

Consisting of Rebecka Digervall, Sanna Kalla, and producer Tomas Backlund Thunestrom, the three-piece self-describe themselves as ‘non-normative witches’. The Magnettes hail from Pajala, a sleepy town home to just 2000 residents and ten hours away from Stockholm.

Of the catchy new single, the band said: “Kim N Kanye is about going out on a Saturday night with your best friend, being broke as shit but playing with the rich kids, feeling like you own the world when you’re together. “

The track features New York rapper Young Ash and is a catchy slice pop that fans of fellow Swede Robyn are sure to adore.

The music video for the track, directed by Martin Åhlin and Frida Thuneström, sees the band wear creepy face masks while proclaiming that Kim and Kanye are the ultimate in #relationshipgoals.

The Magnettes were the main subjects of Hans-Erik Therus’s documentary Pajala State Of Mind, which was screened at the Gothenburg Film Festival, the Tempo Documentary Festival in Stockholm and on Swedish national television.

Therus is currently working on a fly-on-the-wall sequel with the band, documenting their latest ventures. Sanna also had the main role in the TV series “Bastubaletten” last Spring.

The Magnettes can be next seen playing at Mojo Rising in India in April, FOCUS Wales and the Great Escape in May, before heading out on a Canadian tour.
