Queer trio release the video of ‘Wild Child’, which is off their just-released new album.
Shopping are a UK post-punk trio who have actually been going for six years now. Their third (!) album ‘The Official Body’ has just been released, and will undoubtedly get them in front of a whole host of new fans.
The band consists of Rachel Aggs (guitar, vocals), Billy Easter (bass, vocals), and Andrew Milk (drums, vocals), bringing together lo-fi synthesizers with sizzling bass lines.
‘Wild Child’ is the band’s latest single to be taken from ‘The Official Body’ which is produced by Edwyn Collins. With a music video directed by Jack Barraclough, the queer trio are transformed into talent show judges as they witness an array of “talented” individuals.
Speaking about the track, Rachel Aggs says:
It’s about projecting the persona of someone who is always free, always partying, and you can’t imagine them ever worrying about their work rotation or buying cereal. It’s important to see through it, to know it’s fake, but at the same time, it’s so intriguing and seductive. I think this anarchic, flamboyant spirit is really important to queer culture.
