Sister duo REYNA unveil latest track ‘Heartbeat’ and it’s a BOP

Sister-duo REYNA (Victoriah and Hannah Gabriela Banuelos) are back with another slice of electro-pop that hits all the right places.

‘Heartbeat’ is a collaboration with producers Drew Pearson (Kesha, Lights) and Simon Oscroft (The Aces, Emmy the Great), telling the story of being in and out of a relationship. As the chorus booms in with the Banuelos girls singing that “every single heartbeat, when you’re not around me, got me feeling empty,” we can feel that exact same emotion as it resonates with our own personal experiences.

As Gabriela says:

‘Heartbeat’ is about the time my boyfriend and I took a break from our relationship. We were at a point where we weren’t sure if we were ready to commit or call it off.

She added: “One night he shows up unannounced to my house blasting Harvest Moon in his car. He says to me “Ok no more being away from each other.” I wrote this song channelling all those emotions I felt leading up to us getting back together.”

The song is an emotional yet lively electro-ballad that is sure to get you bopping away. Fans of Carly Rae Jepsen, Bleachers, and MUNA will be impressed with the sun-soaked guitar riffs and 80’s-tinge to the track, which you can here below.

The Milwaukee-by-way-of-Texas sisters have had a number of impressive accolades to their name so far. Not only have they opened for the likes of CHVRCHES, The Naked and Famous, and Kesha, they’ve also been name-dropped by Billboard Pride, had a mentoring session with X Ambassadors, and even performed for former President Obama.

REYNA have so far garnered over 3 million combined streams on Spotify to date.

They are currently working on the first of a two-part EP to be released later this year, as well as a music video to accompany the release.
