Peppermint and Cazwell Release Empowering Anthem ‘Blend’

Feel inspired by the new track from Peppermint and Cazwell.

When we caught up with Peppermint last month, she promised that new music was on its way. The star has stayed true to her word, as she’s just unveiled the music video for the first track to be taken from her upcoming EP with rapper Cazwell.

‘Blend’ is a important and empowering track, produced by Chris K and written by both Peppermint and Cazwell, which serves as an anthem for trans people by motivating them to not just try to blend into society, instead making their own path.

The music video for the track, which was directed by Brenden T. R. Gregory, sees Peppermint visit a church with fear of not being accepted but instead turning into a free space full of love and plenty of dancing.

The track will be taken from the upcoming EP of the same name, to be released on the 9th March.

Speaking to Billboard, Cazwell said:

We wanted all of the songs to be very trans-positive and tell a story of what it is like being a trans woman in 2018. ‘Blend’ was written from the state of mind of making a positive trans anthem.

When you are a woman and especially a trans woman you are under a lot of pressure to blend in society so that no one calls you out for being trans. I wanted to write a song that proved the importance of not needing to blend into society to be happy with yourself.

Make sure to pre-order the EP right here.
