Childish Gambino – Summertime Magic

Can Donald Glover actually do no wrong right now? Following the chart-topping ‘This Is America’, Childish Gambino returns with a stunning EP just for summer. Lead track ‘Summertime Magic’ is a steel pan-infused tropical track that plays with synths and dazzling beats alongside a chorus with sweet vocals.

Sigrid – Schedules

The winner of the BBC Music Sound Of 2018 poll is proving the critics correct by continually delivering the goods. ‘Schedules’ is a lively and glistening pop bop that will get you moving and humming along. “I think we’re a hit,” she sings and we’ve gotta agree with a song this good.

Galantis featuring MAX – Satisfied

Galantis have tried something a little bit different with new track ‘Satisfied’. Whilst not fully eliminating their well-known sound, the Swedish duo have blended 70s guitar riffs with a modern day beat to create an intergalactic dance-floor anthem.

Maria Hazell – Best Thing

In the first five seconds of ‘Best Thing’, you believe you’re about to listen to an acoustic love ballad before the Jax Jones-Esque beat kicks right in from under your feet. From then onwards, ‘Best Thing’ is head-bopping brilliance that’s just right for heavy rotation over the summer.

Majik – X

London-based duo Majik always create something magical in their music and new track ‘X’ is no different. Raw and whispered vocals pour over an subtle beat that’ll drive in the emotions. Beautiful stuff.

Theia – Bad Idea

Packed with a punch, ‘Bad Idea’ is an impressive and bold pop track that fully showcases the sweet vocals of New Zealand’s Theia. Whilst the track may sound incredibly catchy, it’s actually got a serious message about self-harm laced within.

MØ – Sun In Our Eyes

Teaming back up with regular collaborator Diplo is always going to help create some music magic for MØ. Honing back into the original sound of her debut album ‘No Mythologies to Follow’, ‘Sun In our Eyes’ is a reminisce of a love in the summer. New album ‘Forever Neverland’ will finally be released this October.

All Saints – Don’t Look Over Your Shoulder

The pop four-piece celebrated their twentieth anniversary last week at Pride in London, but fear not as All Saints have no plans to step out of the limelight again. ‘Don’t Look Over Your Shoulder’ is the latest teaser from upcoming album ‘Testament’ and it’s a soulful ballad, full of harmonies and allows each member of the band to have their own shining moment.

Sophia Ayana – Obsession

‘Obsession’ is a dark R&B track that oozes in attitude and talent. The Ethiopian and Dutch singer entices in the laid-back track as she sings about “I don’t mean to be a psycho, can’t be hip just like you, I can do some tricks, but never gonna fix my obsession.” Fans of Rihanna’s ‘ANTI’ will be particularly into this track.

So, what’s your top pick for new music this week?

Don’t forget to listen to our ‘New Music Friyay’ playlist for plenty more new jams, including Tinashe, Ariana Grande, and John Grant.
