New York and London-based electronic pop singer-songwriter Micky Blue returns to the spotlight today with her stunning new track ‘Famous’.
The track, co-produced and co-written by Blue alongside Andy Seltzer (Maggie Rogers, Penguin Prison), is a euphoric anthem that sounds like the synth sounds of the 80s were transported into the modern styles of today.
‘Famous’ kicks off with a glowing backbeat that’s reminiscent of something you’d expect to hear on the soundtrack to ‘Drive’. It’s from then on that the track builds up to an explosive chorus of bubblegum sweet vocals and symphonies before returning back down to something that is certainly worthy of a head nod or two.
It’s a stellar track that acknowledges the highs and lows of celebrity.
Speaking of the track, Micky Blue said:
‘Famous’ is the first song I wrote post-breakup of a 3-year-long relationship. I realized that this person who I thought loved me as much as I loved him was really only in love with the idea of me.
People have this idea that being an artist, or dating an artist, is glamorous but in reality, it’s more hard work and rejection than VIP parties and expensive champagne.
Blue, who has worked with DJ Tiesto in the pipeline, admitted that the track helped her deal with her break-up more than she may have imagined. She said: “Writing this song helped me process my break-up and celebrate the strength of the real me, not just the glamorous self we all project to the world.”
“I hope this song empowers others to seek and find their own incredible self-worth,” she added.
Micky Blue is currently working on a forthcoming EP, whilst she also has further releases via Spinnin Records to come very soon.
