After five years, Kate Nash is back with a new album.
It’s been a whopping five years since we were last treated to a new Kate Nash album. Since 2013’s ‘Girl Talk’ album, Kate has delved into the world of acting. She starred in films Greetings from Tim Buckley and Syrup as well as Netflix’s critically-acclaimed ‘Glow’. However, she’s back on the music front.
‘Drink About You’ marks the first release from Kate’s upcoming forth studio album ‘Yesterday Was Forever’. In a press release, Kate said the song is about “breaking up with someone and becoming obsessed with an idea of who they are to the point you can’t think of anything else or move on”.
Meanwhile, the inspiration behind the forthcoming album’s title comes from a younger Kate. She said:
‘Yesterday Was Forever’ is an excerpt from a teenage diary. I used to be mocked for being a silly little girl writing in her teenage diary, but these days I feel like the teenage girl is far more respected than she used to be and it’s teenage girls that have fought for that and taught people that lesson.
The music video for the track, which you can see below, was directed by HOLYCHILD’s Liz Nistico and shot in the Los Angeles National Forest.
