The new music video from Hayley Kiyoko is a curious affair.
Hayley Kiyoko has been teasing fans for a few weeks now, but the music video for her new single ‘Curious’ is finally out and it certainly worth the wait.
The track is about a relationship with a girl who is now dating a guy, “i’m just curious… is it serious?” she asks. Speaking of the song, Hayley says:
This song is all about self-respect and knowing when to walk away when someone you care about is playing games.
The music video for ‘Curious’ was directed by Kiyoko herself, along with James Larese, and features a glamorous setting mixed with some iconic dance moves in an Hawaiian shirt.
The treatment I came up with for the video helps gets that point across in a fun and tongue-in-cheek way. I hope people connect with it and can’t wait for everyone to see it!
‘Curious’ is taken from Hayley Kiyoko’s debut album ‘Expectations’, which will be released on March 20. Earlier this week, she revealed on instagram the cover for the upcoming release:
Women are a constant inspiration to me and I want to translate that love and appreciation into physical art, through all my music and imagery. I want to inspire everyone to fearlessly show their power and strength and to celebrate the beauty of the female body in its truest form. So without further ado, I officially present to you my ALBUM COVER for #EXPECTATIONS! #20gayteen #spring
January so far has been a great month for queer artists and their same sex identity. Not only has Hayley released music, but so has Troye Sivan – both of which are undoubtedly expressions of queer identity in mainstream music.
