With almost 85 million views and more than 480,000 subscribers, Hannah Trigwell has made a name for herself with her acoustic performances of top hits, but she’s now bringing her own music to the forefront with the forthcoming release of her debut album ‘Red’.
Lead single ‘Taboo’ is a dark, electro-bop anthem that explores the depths of a forbidden love. Produced by Ben Matravers and Lee Smith, the track is a promising introduction to what is expected to be a impressive debut album.
Speaking about the track, Hannah Trigwell said:
Taboo is probably the first track I wrote for this album but it is one of my favourites. The chorus synth is outrageous and something I have never experimented with before but I love it. The overall dark vibe of this tune is perfect for its story – it’s about loving someone or something you are not ‘supposed to’ love.
The video, which was self-directed by Trigwell alongside assistance from Fyval Winter and John Bird, sees the pop star question her forbidden love whilst at a house party.
Hannah Trigwell’s debut album ‘Red’, which is scheduled for release on August 31st is the result of Trigwell going completely independent and has allowed her to really encompass who she is as an artist. Talking about the upcoming release, she said: “I love writing stripped acoustic tracks too, but after trying to be one or the other and not feeling totally satisfied, I’ve ended up with real range of tracks on the album.
“I’ve shown every side of me musically, so I feel like this record has definitely captured who I am as an artist.”
