Comprising of Angela Martin (vocals, guitar, synths), Paula Snow (bass) and Jack Houston (drums), Bugeye is a Croydon-based trio infused with disco punk and a glittering attitude.
New track ‘Is This Love?’, which is produced by Paul Tipler, is a funk-fuelled infectious anthem for the ages and is inspired by Donna Summer’s iconic ’80s hit ‘I Feel Love’. The track asks what love is and demonstrates just how love can turn into an obsession. Filled with synth-driven hooks and raging beats, the track is a riot from start to finish.
The music video for ‘Is This Love?’, directed by Bugeye’s Angela Martin, sees the band delve into a trippy world of neon shapes, flickering lights, and artistic makeup. Perhaps taking the name of the band quite literally, Martin and Paula Snow can be seen with bug eye make-up on their faces and hands.
Speaking about the track, Bugeye said:
Inspired by 80s club anthem ‘I Feel Love’, by Donna Summer, this is a twisted version asking what is love, really? Do we only believe what we hear? In this day and age, can we truly trust what we see any more? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and love can turn into suffocating obsession.
