Billie Eilish has this week landed the UK number 1 spot with her critically-acclaimed debut album, breaking records in the process.
With ‘WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?’ reaching the top position, Eilish now becomes the youngest ever female artist to score a #1 album in the UK
The album is also now the fastest-selling debut since Liam Gallagher in 2017 and the fastest-selling debut from an international female act since Lana Del Rey in 2012.
With ‘WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?’ selling over 48,000 albums in its first week alone, Eilish’s chart domination also extends to the UK singles chart – ‘bad guy’ has secured the number 2 spot, with ‘bury a friend’ at number 6 and ‘wish you were gay’ at number 13.
Reacting to the chart news today, Billie comments: “I appreciate you making ‘WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?’ the #1 album in the UK so much. We worked really hard on this album. Thank you for the love!!”
A groundbreaking moment in modern pop, ‘WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?’ has been described as a ghostly, genre-less dissection of life, as she ruminates on her first brushes with loss and love amidst the monsters under her bed and the triumphs at her feet.
WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? is out everywhere now.
