Stars including Kristen Bell are providing local communities the opportunity to watch ‘Love, Simon’ for free.
It’s safe to say that ‘Love, Simon’ has hit home with many LGBTQ+ people. The well-reviewed film is continuing to perform well in box offices across the world, and is providing audiences with an opportunity to view the ‘queer gaze’ in Hollywood movies.
It seems like the film has also had a knock-on effect with many of Hollywood’s finest stars too. , as a number of celebrities, such as Kristen Bell, Neil Patrick Harris, and Matt Bomer, have recently announced that they have each bought out theatre screenings of ‘Love, Simon’ for local communities to attend for free.
The screenings are to help inspire members of the community and to also encourage people to see the motivational film.
Posting on Instagram, Matt Bomer and his husband, Simon Halls, announced they had bought out a theater in Bomer’s hometown of Spring, TX, adding that “this is an important movie, and a really good one. I know you’ll love it so come watch for free this Sunday!”
Meanwhile, Kristen Bell also shared a similar post on her Instagram, saying:
Love, Simon is a KNOCKOUT. There are so many important stories that don’t get made. I am so grateful this one did. ❤I had absolutely nothing to do with the making of this movie—I just have a huge crush on it and I’d like to share the love. Minneapolis, please enjoy a screening of Love, Simon this Sunday on me. 🙂 Enjoy!
