‘Hocus Pocus’ remains the UK’s favourite film to watch over Halloween

We’ve already tempted you with some terrifying tunes to listen to and some scary shows to watch, but what about some monstrous movies?

Seems like a lot of us will be shouting ‘Amuck, Amuck, Amuck’ this Halloween as a new survey has revealed that ‘Hocus Pocus’ is the nations favourite spooky film.

Released twenty-five years ago, the witchy flick remains a Halloween classic thanks to its impressive performances from Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy. The survey, conducted by online marketplace OnBuy.com, saw 72% of people say it was their top film to watch over the witching season.

‘Hocus Pocus’ recently celebrated its 25th anniversary this year with a limited edition release of Funko Pop’s of the three Sanderson sisters. Not only that but a concert to celebrate the occasion saw the likes of Jordin Sparks dress up to perform some notable tracks featured in the movie.

The survey also found that other old-school classics including ‘Friday the 13th’ and ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’ remained faves with Halloween fans, whilst 44% of people will be clowning about with a viewing of Stephen King’s ‘IT’.

50% of people will be hiding behind the cushions to watch the original ‘Halloween’ too, perhaps thanks to the heightened success of the recent remake which also features Jamie Lee Curtis.

Seems like 25% of us agree that ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ is, in fact, suitable Halloween viewing too… Where do you stand on the ever-controversial debate?

Take a look at a gruesome graphic below featuring our top ten Halloween films…Mua-ha-ha!
