Kylie Minogue Now The Favourite To Headline Glastonbury 2019

Kylie Minogue has had a pretty great last twelve months, let’s be honest. Her latest album ‘Golden’ was released to rave reviews and her country-pop twang has helped introduce her to a whole new crowd.

Well, Kylie’s recent successes might just keep on going as she’s now become the hot favourite to headline 2019’s Glastonbury. The festival, held in Somerset in June, has seen the likes of Beyonce, Adele, Coldplay, and Radiohead take on the headline slots on the world-famous stage.

This isn’t Kylie’s first experience with Glastonbury. Minogue was announced as one of the headliners for the 2005 festival however, she had to pull out after being diagnosed with breast cancer in order to receive treatment. Basement Jaxx took over her slot and performed a cover of ‘Can’t Get You Out Of My Head’ in honour.

According to Betway, Kylie could finally get her headline performance 14 years later as she’s now the clear favourite with even odds. The Aussie star was third in the betting at the end of last week at 5/2, but she’s now top of the list to take to the Pyramid Stage at evens, ahead of Arctic Monkeys, who have also attracted strong support in recent days.

Former favourite Kendrick Lemar and pop God Elton John are next in the betting at 2/1 and 9/4 respectively.

Betway’s Alan Alger said: “From Kendrick Lemar to Stormzy, we’ve seen a number of music stars tipped to headline the Pyramid Stage at next year’s Glastonbury and Aussie pop goddess Kylie Minogue is the latest who we’ve seen very strong support for.

“The former Neighbours star is now the even-money favourite to top the bill at the Somerset festival, with rock band Arctic Monkeys in close pursuit at 7/4.”
