Dua Lipa Faces Off Against Herself In ‘IDGAF’ Video

The new music video for ‘IDGAF’ is out and, of course, it’s amazing.

Just when you thought the start to 2018 couldn’t get any better, Dua Lipa unveils a new music video.

We’ve been a big fan of ‘IDGAF’ since we heard it on Dua’s album last year, and we knew it had the makings of a hit. The track, written by Dua herself along with MNEK, Larzz Principato, Skyler Stonestreet and Whiskey Waters, is an empowering track about cutting someone out of your life after they’ve messed you about.

The music video for the track is directed by Henry Scholfield, who has previously worked with Ella Eyre, AlunaGeorge, and Stromae. Artistic direction came from Stromae and Luc Junior Tam.

Speaking about the music video shoot, Dua said:

It took us 22 hours to shoot… and with the best people and team, magic happens. This video is about your stronger and weaker side fighting with each other only to realise that self love is what will help you overcome any negativity that comes your way. I hope you like it as much as we have loved making it.

Director Henry Scholfield added:

We wanted to embody the sense of empowerment in the track, whilst going beyond the literal breakup context. We had in mind a visual of the internal struggle, showing the two sides of Dua’s emotive state, like an argument with someone you love. The strong Dua at first berating then eventually persuading her weaker alter ego that they both don’t give a fuck.
