April in London: Queer fayres and non-monogamy talks lead must-see events

Whether you’re popping into the capital for a couple of days, a local, or just looking for a few days away, London has plenty to do.

This April, there’s even more to keep you busy. Here’s three impressive, inclusive, and different events to consider visiting this month.

Spring Queer Fayre at Hoxton Square Bar & Kitchen

Date: Sunday 7th April

Queer Fayre is exactly what it says on the tin – a fayre full of stalls held by queer LGBT+ humans selling unique and interesting things, such as the gender-free pants shown above.

From Jam to anything between witchcraft and kink, queer everyday items and things we need to party, to pottery and underwear, there is something for everyone and plenty of things to do. Plus, DJ Stav Bee will be creating the sound of the event. This is a queer space, run by queer people for queer people (and our allies). Rainbow Family Friendly!

Run by Wotever World, this is a space to socialise, connect, meet and make new friends, and support queer art and the people who make it, and have a great Sunday with our fantastic community. From 1-6pm. Entry £3 advance or £% OTD

Ruby Rare’s Guide to Non-Monogamy at The Book Club

Date: Tuesday 23rd April

Whether you’re brand new to open relationships, or are already navigating your own poly constellation, the world of non-monogamy can feel overwhelming.

This talk will break down different ways to explore non-monogamy, and give insight into improving communication (with yourself and others) and as well as dealing with jealousy in a healthy way.

Ruby Rare will share some of her own experiences on non-monogamy – from group sex to polyamory – with the hope that you can learn from some of the mistakes she has made. The talk will divulge into honest communication, finding independence within relationships, and exploring different relationship structures.

This talk will help you to navigate all aspects of non-monogamy with confidence and curiosity. It’s an evening that’ll spark your imagination and inspire you to go beyond traditional ways of thinking about relationships.

Body Love Sketch Club presents… Life Drawing! at The Book Club

Date: 30th April

Get ready for an artistic adventure in body positivity and creativity positivity.

The Body Love Sketch Club is a life drawing class like no other where you both draw and are drawn (with optional clothes when life modelling). Casting a joyful, loving and accepting eye over the (optionally) naked body, the sketch club allows you to tap into a playful and sensual creative practice, exploring our relationships with ourselves as both artist and model.

Leave all negative judgements at the door (along with your clothes if you choose to shed them when you pose) in this fun and empowering class.

Ticket price £15, including all drawing materials. Body Love Sketch Club is founded on a principle of inclusivity and has a NOTAFLOF policy (no one turned away for lack of funds). If the ticket price is prohibitive to you, please email on to request a discount.

Timings: please arrive by 6:45pm for a 7pm start. Latecomers may not be admitted.

A final note: inclusivity, safety, respect, confidentiality and consent are fundamental principles of all these events and all attendees are expected to uphold them. The organisers reserve the right to ask anyone to leave should their behaviour be deemed to be inappropriate.
