Shante you slay! Two of our TV faves have just smashed the competition at the Creative Arts Emmys and have a whole new collection of shiny trophies to boot.
Netflix’s recent ‘Queer Eye’ reboot won three of the four Creative Arts Emmy awards it was nominated for: Outstanding Casting for a Reality Program, Outstanding Picture Editing for a Competition Reality Program and, reality TV’s pièce de résistance when it’s comes to the Creative Arts Emmys, Outstanding Structured Reality Program.
Jonathan Van Ness wowed crowds by choosing to wear something a little androgynous – sporting his silky hair and beard with a fabulous mesh top, skirt and heels. We die at how stun he looks!
Meanwhile, ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ was nominated for a whopping TWELVE awards and successfully nabbed four of them: Outstanding Costumes For Variety, Nonfiction Or Reality Programming, Outstanding Directing For A Reality Program, Outstanding Hairstyling For A Multi-Camera Series Or Special (for Gabriel Villarreal AKA Delta Work), and RuPaul himself won the Outstanding Host For A Reality Or Reality-Competition Program.
In his acceptance speech, RuPaul said: “Thank you so much Television Academy! Our show is about love and courage and the tenacity of the human spirit. All of the people that work on the show, at WOW and VH1, we are so happy to present these queens to the world.”
Michelle Visage was on hand to celebrate the big wins, as well as capture RuPaul’s speech:

It could be set to be a busy month for RuPaul, as the show is also up for Outstanding Reality-Competition Program at the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards to be held on September 17th.
