If you want to learn a few quick facts about this Dallas queen then read on.

Part Of Her Name is Inspired By Divine

The Kennedy aspect of her drag name came from her drag mother, Kelexis Davenport, as the first name was taken as being unisex so could apply both in and out of drag.

The Davenport surname is shared amongst her drag family, and was taken from the film character Dawn Davenport in Female Trouble. The character was played by the one and only Divine.

She’s got plenty of Talent

Kennedy certainly made an impression during her run of Drag Race, but it actually wasn’t the first time she was seen on television.

Kennedy showed off her fine performance skills in front of Mel B and Heidi Klum during the eighth season of America’s Got Talent. She impressed the judges enough to get three yeses before ultimately getting eliminated during the Vegas round.

Still, she holds the title of the only drag act to appear onscreen during the season which isn’t too shabby at all.

Her Fellow Drag Race Queens Came To The Rescue

Back in 2015, not long after the passing of her father, Kennedy was told by the bank that she needed to pay a lump sum on the family home’s mortgage or her family would be evicted.

Alongside an online funding page, her fellow Drag Race stars put on a fundraising performance at Brick Bar in Dallas, Queens. Just some of the queens to appear on the bill included the iconic Latrice Royale, fellow All Stars 3 contestant Shangela LaQuifa Wadley and the classy Mrs. Kasha Davis. The fundraiser alone was able to raise over $4,000.

Kennedy Was Even in the Navy

At the end of a long-term relationship, Kennedy, real name Reuben Asberry Jr., needed an opportunity to re-structure her life. Almost like fate, a recruiter called her with the opportunity to join the navy and it was a decision that she hasn’t regretted – having spent three years on duty.

Speaking to Hey Qween about how she benefited from her career in the Navy:

It made me a self-motivator, it made me even more self-efficient, and it taught me how to talk to people. I did a lot of healing in the navy.

She’s a pageant PRO

Kennedy is pretty much a legend when it comes to pageants, and has plenty of awards to her name.

She has won more than ten competitions, including Miss All American Goddess and Miss Gay Orlando.
