National Orgasm Day – How to Have the Best Sex Ever

Today marks an important day on the calendar as it is actually National Orgasm Day. Fancy that!

It was recently found that 26 per cent of men in the UK have faked an orgasm, whilst a whopping 93 per cent of UK women admitted to putting in a performance worthy of an appearance on Fifty Shades of Grey.

If you’re planning on marking this special occasion with a bit of rumpy-pumpy then you might want to read on to find out how to make sure it’s a day to remember.

Our friends at Ann Summers have provided us with some go-to tips to ensure you and your partner don’t have to put on an acting masterclass and both get that heavenly O.

Having better sex

Everybody wants better sex for themselves and their partner. The fundamentals of great sex are

1. Lube it up – If you want to improve your sex life, a great place to start is to add lube.
2. Communication is key – being able to express your wants and needs is vital to having better sex. Don’t be afraid of sharing your desires, after all, it’s the only want to get what you really want.
3. Let fantasy become reality – if you become bored of a usual routine, try a little role play or dressing up to add something a little more exciting. Over half of brits admit to fantasising about someone else during sex and 45% of women admit to thinking about their sexual fantasy lover whilst having sex with their partner.
4. Introduce toys – many women struggle to orgasm from penetrative sex alone, so adding a sex toy can make sex more satisfying. Toys can also help add a bit of variety in life and keep things exciting.
5. Positions make perfect – To have better sex, you have tobtry new things! New positions are great for reconnecting and heating things up.

Achieving multiple orgasms

It doesn’t need to be over yet. To ensure you’re not only achieving one orgasm, make the most out of it and love life with multiple orgasms:

1. Don’t rush it – Your body will be much more sensitive after your first orgasm, which means carrying on with heavy stimulation straight away can be painful. And we don’t want that.
2. Relax – just for a few seconds, but don’t lose focus. This is what mindfulness is all about. Keep your head full of distinctly inappropriate thoughts… or maybe focus on your favourite thing to do to your partner’s body for a little while if you’re flying solo.
3. Freshen up – apply some more lube, and slowly start stimulation again – there may be a little bit of discomfort at first, so ease off ever-so-slightly, and gently work yourself back to the plateau before your heightened state of arousal disappears completely.
4. Practice makes perfect – Each orgasm will feel more intense than the one before it, and the more you practice the easier you’ll find it to reach the second… and third… and fourth…

To continue to help ensure you have the best sex ever, Ann Summers have several step by step guides on achieving multiple orgasms, introducing sex toys to the mix, and even a guide to tantric sex.
